The Neon LED Strip Light

The Neon LED Strip Light is a flexible neon flex rope in soft silicone, and the difference between it and an ordinary LED strip is the thing you notice first. Most cheap led strip lights give you a line of bright dots with a shadow between each one. This is led neon flex: the light is diffused evenly along the whole length, so you get one clean unbroken line. Because it bends in any direction you can curve this flexible LED strip around a corner, arch it over a doorway, run it along a stair rail or shape it into a letter, none of which a flat strip will do. It is a smart LED strip light as well as a pretty one, running on the Tuya app with a handheld remote in the box and support for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can set a colour by voice or on a schedule. Full RGB colour from SMD5050 chips, plus a music mode that reacts to sound, a timer, adjustable speed and your own saved presets.

It mounts with the included clips and screws rather than adhesive tape, which is why it stays up years after a taped strip has peeled off the wall, and there are marked cut points every 3cm so you can trim this neon light strip to your exact run. The profile is 11mm by 5mm with a 180 degree beam. Rated IP65, meaning it shrugs off dust and splashes, so it is happy under a kitchen cabinet, in a bathroom or on a covered balcony. It is not rated for submersion or permanent exposure to rain, so treat it as an indoor and sheltered outdoor light. Tuck it behind a floating shelf, a headboard or a television and you see the glow rather than the fitting, which is the whole point of ambient lighting.
